Amanda Desjardins
MSW, BSW, RSW

Social Worker

Meet Amanda!

Amanda completed her Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in psychology as well as her Masters of Social Work at the University of Windsor. She also completed the Autism and Behavioural Science Certificate at St. Clair College. Amanda worked as a behaviour therapist with children and youth from the ages of 2-18 living with autism spectrum disorder for over 8 years. She has great experience in helping children work through big emotions, and also with behaviour reduction and replacement strategies. Since transitioning out of the behaviour therapist role, Amanda has supported hundreds of families in her community with parental support, behavioural support, emotional regulation development, and development goals. Amanda supports teens, young adults, and adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, self-harm, relationships, and lack of motivation. Amanda has worked to support Indigenous Individuals in developing greater understanding and connection to their family’s cultural traditions and relationships in a Wholistic lens.

As a registered social worker, Amanda prides herself in being able to connect with her clients and create a safe and welcoming environment for learning to take place. She values the importance of connection when developing a therapeutic relationship in order for healing and positive change to occur.
