BSW, RSW

Social Worker, Psychotherapist, MSW Candidate

Meet Marie-Michelle!

Marie-Michelle is a Registered Social Worker currently completing her Master of Social Work (MSW). She holds a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi and has built a diverse career supporting individuals and families for over a decade. Alongside her clinical work, she serves as a research assistant at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi, contributing to the development of knowledge within the social work community. Her academic and professional experience continue to shape a practice grounded in curiosity, compassion, and evidence-informed care.

Since 2013, Marie-Michelle has been walking alongside children, teenagers, and adults as they navigate grief, anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions. She holds a special place in her practice for new moms—those experiencing loss, identity shifts, or the complex emotions that emerge when entering a new chapter of life. Her work is guided by the belief that every person already carries internal strengths and resources; therapy simply helps them access, strengthen, and trust those capacities.

Marie-Michelle has extensive experience supporting children of all ages—from early childhood through adolescence—helping them make sense of big emotions, build confidence, and feel grounded in who they are. She understands that children express themselves in unique ways, often through art, play, creativity, movement, and storytelling. By creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally attuned environment, she helps children explore their feelings, practice new skills, and discover healthy ways to cope. She also works closely with parents and caregivers, offering guidance and strategies that strengthen the parent-child relationship and support the family as a whole.

FREE TIME: She loves spending time outdoors—especially on walks with her dog—exploring nature, and baking with her kids. She’s also a bit of a social-work geek; she’s always reading, watching, or listening to something related to the field (something the kids she used to work with often teased her about!).
FUN FACT: Marie-Michelle loves snow, LOVES snow. Her first language is French and even after 10 years in Windsor you will still hear her accent!

“She stood in the storm, and when the wind did not blow her way, she adjusted her sails” – Elizabeth Edwards
