Social Worker
Meet Donna (pronouns: she/her). She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (BA, Psych) at the University of Windsor and obtained a specialized certificate in Gerontology from Niagara College Canada. She went on to do her Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Manitoba (BSW), she is a Registered Social Worker (RSW). Donna has over twenty five years experience in therapeutic roles with seniors, children/adolescents, adults, and families struggling with life challenges, mental health and addictions. She has experience working in health care settings with geriatric patients and in a problem gambling centre. She has a passion for facilitating groups and counselling individuals and couples.
On her free time she enjoys gardening, being creative by crafting, and doing outdoors activities like camping, biking, and hiking.

Treatment Specialties: Anxiety, Depression, Bi-polar Disorder, Addictions (Gambling, Alcohol, Drugs), Family members impacted by the above, Interpersonal Skills, Couples challenges, and Low Self-esteem.
Therapeutic Modalities: Solution Focused Brief Therapy (S.F.B.T), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Rational Emotive Therapy (R.E.T). Her practice is guided by the following approaches: Anti-oppressive, Client-centred, General Wellness & Wellbeing, Strengths-Based, Trauma-informed, Goal Oriented, Self-Directed, and Empowerment model.
